520			_aDue to the nature and complexity of the types of Web applications, the data of the conceptual model and the data of derived navigational models persist in relational databases. The mapping of the object-oriented model to data model has several variants which are generally expressed in an informal way. In this paper we establish a formal connection between the conceptual model, represented by a class diagram, and the underlying data model, represented by an entity-relationship model. In addiction, in the same schema, a formal link among the data of the conceptual model and the data of the derived navigational models is proposed, as well as among the latter and views of the data model. We use MOF-based metamodeling techniques to represent the transformations and OCL rules to formally define them.
